For this assignment were where given the task of assigning 5 roles and their tasks for creating a web app geared towards aircraft pilots. Often time there is collaboration between multiple people of different teams with in a to get a task done. For some small agency the team an entire team is one singular person, this scenario of 5 team members would be be an example of that. There are many different ways that this could be done in order to suit both the skills and people in the agency. Here is one example :

Project Manager

For the most part the Project Manager functions kind of like a control centre of the time. It is this persons job to make sure everything get done and stays on plan through out a project. If a member of the team run into a problem or delay it is often brought to the Project manager to trouble shoot and come up with a solution. Being a Project Manager is not suited for every person as it involves a great deal of organisation, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and being able to break down problems into smaller components and identify the best person suited for the task.

Tasks for this project:

  • coming up with the problem statement
  • fully ideate a final product
  • create task and deadline and then assign them
  • insure deadlines are being met as well as teams needs
  • Perform initial client meeting and continue to keep client informed
  • create the budget and handle finances

UX Designer

  • perform user research
  • create user personas, site maps, mood maps, and customer journey map
  • collaborate with both the technical team lead and creative director to create wireframes (which show what will be on each page in the app) and prototypes (interactive drafts of the app that people can try out)
  • collaborate with both the technical team lead and creative director to create Design the final prototypes to pass to the person who will code the app
  • Conduct user testing with a group of pilot participants to find out if the app is easy to use and solves the problems you think it should solve

Technical Team Lead

  • Code the front of the app (what the user sees and interacts with in the browser)
  • Code the back end of the app (creates a database to pull content about different flight locations, utilizes API’s for weather and other information, etc)
  • collaborate with both the UX Designer and creative director to create wireframes (which show what will be on each page in the app) and prototypes (interactive drafts of the app that people can try out)
  • collaborate with both the UX Designer and creative director to create Design the final prototypes to pass to the person who will code the app

Creative Director

(role I would want to do someday maybe?)

  • Create branding for the product this includes logos and complete style guides
  • Create assets for all marketing and branding with input from the Marketing Director
  • Create layout for both web a print
  • collaborate with both the technical team lead and UX Designer to create wireframes (which show what will be on each page in the app) and prototypes (interactive drafts of the app that people can try out)
  • collaborate with both the technical team lead and UX Designer to create Design the final prototypes to pass to the person who will code the app

Marketing Director

  • Come up with a digital marketing plan that includes ads, social media marketing and more
  • Develop and implement an SEO strategy 
  • Create written content for all marketing 
  • Develop and implement a PPC strategy
